Strawberry Pickin' At Eckert's Farm

About two weeks ago, we went strawbery picking at Eckert's in Belleville, IL. My Grandma Jane, Grandpa Mike, Aunt Laura, Uncle Eric, Uncle Jeremy, and my cousins; Benson, Allie, Mia, and Weston were all there, too. We had a blast!!!
Rayn was in awe of all of the strawberries that were so accessible at her level! She couldn't decide what ones to pick and eat over which ones to leave on their stems and let them grow. She spent most of the time with her dad and he picked the strawberries, wiped them off and gave them to her to eat. Her mom was picking the strawberries to bring home.
By the time that we left, she had strawberries from one ear to the next and from her forehead to her chin. I think in the matter of time that we were there, she ate at LEAST 10-15 strawberries. She loved them! I don't know who had more fun: her eating the strawberries or us being in awe at how many strawberries she was consuming. Needless to say, that evening she didn't eat too much for dinner because she was so full from the strawberries!

Summer is Drawing Near!

This past weekend Rayn had her first experience in the 95 degree weather. She loved it very much because we put her outside with some sunscreen, a diaper, and a bucket of water. At first, she was apprehensive about playing with the water but once she got comfortable, the more and more buckets we had to fill. She loved to drink the water, scoop the water out with a shovel, and throw toys in the water. Eventually, her dad came outside and started pouring water all over her, she just loved it! She is definitely an outside girl.

On Sunday, we decided to get her a pool. Nana got her a pool and a hose from Wal-Mart. The very first time in the pool drew a lot of tears; tears of fear and confusion. Now that we have gotten over our first time in the pool, every time we walk by the pool in the garage we start to whine because we want to use it!

Needless to say, the fun of the summer is just beginning for Rayn! She is an outside girl, no matter the temperature.
